Mass. Registration is not required. Brochures are in the atrium literature
rack. For information call Francine Silavent,

Procedure
for Religious Readiness and Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Children registered in preschool and kindergarten classes pick up
their nametags in the atrium prior to the 10 a.m.
Mass on Sunday and wear them to church and to class. Three-year old Religious
Readiness children go directly to their classrooms before Mass begins.
Religious Readiness children aged 4 and 5 and grades 1 & 2
(Children's Liturgy of the Word) sit with parents and join the assembly for
the Introductory Rites of the Mass. After
the Opening Prayer, when the priest hands the Children's Lectionary to the
Children's Liturgy of the Word leader, these children gather at the front of
the church and follow the leader to the atrium. Children in grades 1
& 2 will continue to the Chapel for a special Liturgy of the Word. While adults hear the Word proclaimed
and reflect upon its meaning in their lives, the children listen to God's
Word and ponder its meaning but in a way best suited to their abilities and
interests.
Religious Readiness children meet the teachers in the atrium who escort
them to classes in the lower level of the Parish Hall. Parents are
always invited to accompany their child if necessary.
After the homily, children attending Children's Liturgy of the Word
return to the church and sit with their families for the remainder of the Mass. After
Mass, Religious Readiness children are to be picked up at their classrooms by
a parent or guardian.
