the ability to proclaim it to others are necessary requirements.
Prayerful preparation is essential and training is provided on the
parish level.

parish events. Teenagers are also encouraged to consider this service
ministry.

assisting parishioners to find a seat, taking up the offertory
collection and in distributing the parish bulletins at our liturgies.
This ministry is open to all interested adults, men and women, and high
school age teens.

musicians are always welcome to offer their musical gifts at our
liturgies. The choir assists at the 10:00 A.M. Sunday Liturgy and at

funerals, parishioners may request the use of the facilities of the
parish to serve food and refreshments to those who attend a funeral of a
loved one. Volunteer assistance is always welcomed.
PRE-CANA
This one-day program
for engaged couples assists them in preparing for a Marriage in the
Lord. Ordinarily offered in April and October, this program is required
for couples marrying at St. Clarence. Registration is required. Married
couples who are willing to share their experience of married life are
invited to serve as members of the Pre-Cana Team.

these intentions are encouraged to call the parish office and submit
their names.

always needed for light cleaning of the Church, Chapel, and
Sacristy.
BAPTISM
PROGRAM
Baptism is a special moment in the life of our family of
Faith. Baptisms are celebrated the first and third Sunday of the month at
1:15 P.M. Arrangements for all baptisms, including a baptism during
Mass, must be made in advance with the priest. Parents who
desire to have a child baptized at St. Clarence must attend a
Pre-Baptism Class. Information on these classes is available at the
parish office.
YOUTH MINISTRY
By providing young people with unique opportunities to
enthusiastically celebrate their Catholic faith in community, St.
Clarence Youth Ministry encourages teens to build their lives on a
foundation of discipleship.
StCYM is open to all
high school students, including those in parochial, private and public
schools. One need not be a parishioner at St. Clarence, or even be
Catholic, to participate in Youth Ministry; one must simply be in high
school.
Youth Ministry meets every Sunday
night at 7:00 during the school year,
except for the first weekend of the month, when we gather at 4:30 p.m.
on Saturday for a Youth Liturgy.
StCYM affirms the role of parents as
the primary formers of their teens' faith, and seeks to encourage,
supplement, and involve them in that role.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
(RCIA)
This Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process
through which adults are initiated into the Catholic community. Adults
who have never been baptized, adults baptized in other Christian faiths
and who desire to explore Catholicism, and adults who have been baptized
into the Catholic faith but not reared in Catholic faith understanding
or practice, are invited to explore this process. The RCIA meets from
September through June.
RCIA TEAM MEMBERS
Active members
of the parish who are willing to respond to God's call to companion
another on a faith journey into Catholicism as a sponsor or as a team
member of RCIA are encouraged to consider participation. This is a
collaborative ministry under the direction of the RCIA coordinators.
CHILDREN'S RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
(RCIC)
Children in need of baptism or baptized children who have
not been reared in the Faith need religious education and formation.
Families who desire a sacramental life for their children should contact
one of the priests. Parishioners, experienced in working with children
on a catechetical or faith-sharing level, and who would like to do so
one-on-one or with a few children in a group, are encouraged to consider
this special ministry. This preparation precedes the child's entry into
the regular Parish School of Religion Program (PSR).

PARISH SCHOOL OF
RELIGION (PSR)
This parish-based religious education program for
school children from grades one through eight is held on Monday
afternoons and evenings during the school year. The first session is
from 4:30 - 6:00 PM; the second session is from 7:00 - 8:30 PM.
Registration is required. Catechists (teachers and teacher assistants)
educate children in the Faith. Training in theology and teaching methods
is provided. Hall monitors, assistants, and clerical workers are always
welcome.
