THE INKLINGS (1940s) - A literary society associated with the University of Oxford that included among its members C.S. Lewis (author of The Chronicles of Narnia) and J.R.R. Tolkien (author of The Lord of the Rings).  The group met weekly, in Lewis’ words, “theoretically to talk about literature, but in fact nearly always to talk about something better.”

THE INKLINGS (2000s) - A literary society associated with St. Clarence Youth Ministry.  The group meets weekly to read and discuss the works (both fiction and non-fiction) of great Christian writers like Lewis and Tolkien, in the spirit of fun and camaraderie modeled by the friendship of the original Inklings.

Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas

Grant me, O Lord my God,

a mind to know you,

a heart to seek you,

conduct pleasing to you,

faithful perseverance in waiting for you,

and a hope of finally embracing you.
